Kapanga can be configured in two modes, described as follows.
- IP to IP communications, establishes point to point communications between two Kapangas or a Kapanga and another SIP device. For the details click here.
- IP to SIP provider calls, lets you call regular phone (PSTN) numbers via an Internet Telephony provider or a software (or hardware) IP-based PBX. For more details click here.
Kapanga lets you save any settings with configuration files that have the ".cfg" extension. Each profile can be created, retrieved or modified at any time.
Once defining parameters, we recommend saving the new settings to a "configuration file" and then restarting the softphone.
To save settings please click on the K icon and select File > Save As. To restart Kapanga, click on the K icon and select Configuration > Restart Softphone.
You will be surprised as to the number of additional parameters you can enable or define in Kapanga. But there's no need to worry: as long as you follow the steps required in this Wiki, you won't need to change them. Now if you're indeed familiar with all this, please go ahead and let us know how well it is working
