A customer of ours sent us a nice article from Computer World about uses of Fax over IP (FoIP). It goes over the basics of FoIP and the advantages of using it with your current VoIP network. We find that most of North American providers however are lagging behind support of FoIP compared to the European or Asian markets. The good news is that Kapanga Softphone is the only SIP client that support Fax over IP! Click here to read the article. You can also try Kapanga for free by downloading a trial here. If you have a favorite VoIP provider, please let us know. Enjoy!

2006 will probably be remembered by all of us here at Kapanga HQ, as the one with the most active traveling across the U.S. (even Mexico). We’ve seen all sorts of formats and met with great people, many of them with great ideas.
As big fans of technology, we’ve been following what we think will be a growing trend in conferences, meet-ups, or get-togethers: smaller conferences organized by smaller organizations. These up-and-coming conferences are organized only a few months in advance and seem to be pretty successful at disseminating information and having great discussions. Most of these meet-ups are about Web 2.0 type discussions, i.e., talking about next-gen applications and services running on the Web.
Wouldn’t it be great to have something like this for our VoIP industry? My last impression at GlobalComm 2006 was that it was a great show and we had little time to meet and learn about all the great stuff exhibitors and presenters had to share.
What would be your favorite topic of discussion if you had such an event? Aside from the usual VON, TMCNET and GlobalComm shows, what other shows (happening anywhere in the world) do you attend and like the best?
Hi there. We’ll be here blogging about current events in the VoIP world, and also planning on keeping you up-to-date with developments with Kapanga Softphone. We have been posting some news on the Community Forum, and due to customer requests we felt that a lot more people would benefit for having information in this format. Without extending this first entry too much, we want to thank again all users of our product. Stay tuned!
